And they clothed Him with purple,
and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about His head, Mark 15:17
And they stripped Him, and put on Him a scarlet robe. Matthew 27:28
That was how those in the world saw Jesus.
This is how He really is:
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne,
high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple. Isaiah 6:1
That means His robe is gigantic.
If His train filled the temple, then it must be very flowing, almost fluid.
Imagine for a minute, if you can, that the train of His robe filled the temple.
Even if the Temple was small by our standards, that is still a really big train.
It only makes sense as there are several references in the bible
about how God fills Heaven and Earth.
We cannot comprehend His greatness and splendor with our natural minds.
These are questions Solomon asked
when he knew his responsibility was to build an earthly temple for the Lord:
But will God indeed dwell on the earth?
behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain Thee;
how much less this house that I have builded? 1 Kings 8:27
But who is able to build Him an house,
seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain Him?
who am I then, that I should build Him an house,
save only to burn sacrifice before Him? 2 Chronicles 2:6
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord. Jermiah 23:24
The fact that His train filled the temple, though majestic,
is only a glimpse of His glory which we shall one day understand and see.
Jesus was destined to be clothed with the glory of the Father,
since He and the Father are One.
Jesus is the fleshly representation of God, Jesus is God in the flesh.
For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Colossians 2:9
We see in Daniel and Revelation, His garment was mentioned.
I beheld till the thrones were cast down,
and the Ancient of days did sit,
whose garment was white as snow,
and the hair of His head like the pure wool:
His throne was like the fiery flame, and His wheels as burning fire.
Daniel 7:9
And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot,
and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. Revelation 1:13
Jesus’ attire is glorious.
When we see Him, we will be in awe.
We will know that it is just part of His awesome, wonderous Majesty.
Jesus, our Lord and Savior we have come to trust and love.
