And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot,
and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow;
and His eyes were as a flame of fire;
And His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace;
and His voice as the sound of many waters.
And He had in his right hand seven stars:
and out of His mouth went a sharp twoedged sword:
and His countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead.
And He laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me,
Fear not; I am the first and the last:
I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are,
and the things which shall be hereafter; Revelation 1:13-19
Jesus Himself is the Word of God:
In the beginning was the word and the word was with God
and the word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by Him;
and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness;
and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:1-5
The Word is truth.
God is not a man that He can lie.
God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man,
that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it?
or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? Numbers 22:19
His word is truth.
God’s Word does not change.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8
God spoke the world into being.
When you read Genesis chapter 1, you will hear “and God said” many times
as He was creating the world.
There are cautions in the bible about the words we use.
For by your words you will be justified,
and by your words you will be condemned. Matthew 12:37
Words are meaningful, even as humans.
We will be held accountable for all of the idle words we speak.
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven,
and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth,
and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower,
and bread to the eater:
So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth:
it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:10
God’s word is very powerful.
God’s word will not come back void.
It pierces through hearts.
God’s word has lost none of its power.
Jesus remains the word.
The word goes forth and accomplishes whatever God sends it forth to do.
It cannot be ignored.
It cannot be modified.
The Word of God cannot be altered or improved upon.
I cannot be softened or sugar-coated.
The Word of God is alive and once it goes forth, there is no stopping it.
For the word of God is living and powerful,
and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
The word of God has been rejected by some, by many.
The word remains powerful and will still accomplish all it says.
The word is alive.
The Word of God is constant.
The Word will not be moved.
The Word of God pierces.
The Word of God divides.
The Word of God is a sharp, two-edged sword.
