The Storm is Raging

The wind is howling
The rain is beating down
Its fury is unnerving
I think of the disciples
When they were in the boat
You were asleep
You were unconcerned
They were frightened and afraid
You asked, Where is your faith?
I can relate to them
It’s so hard to trust You when what we see is in chaos
We don’t need to trust You when everything is calm
They called out to You to care about them
You already cared about them more than they could realize
You already had everything handled
You weren’t forgetting
You knew Your Father was Your protector, and theirs
Every day of each of their lives was written in Your book
There are no surprises for You
If You number the hairs on our head
Surely you aren’t without knowledge of our needs
For Your Heavenly Father knows our needs before we ask
Lord Jesus, help us to grow strong in the knowledge of Your love for us.

Scriptural References:

And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
