Through Many Dangers, Toils and Snares

From the Old Hymn, Amazing Grace written in 1779 by John Newton

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come:
’tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home

This verse of Amazing Grace went through my mind today
I have been considering a preacher who is off track,
who does not love the truth
And, I was reminded of the many snares that are there to lead us astray,
to get us off the narrow road, to follow doctrines or men,
or anything else besides the Lord
Jesus was not popular when He walked on the Earth
Well, during certain times, He had quite a following
and people were fascinated by Him
But when it was uncomfortable to follow Him, people left Him

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it
. Matthew 7:13-14

.. few there be that find it…

… and grace will lead me home…
