Time does have great value and God knows it.
Then Jesus said to them,
“My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. John 7:6
It is easy to waste time.
The clock keeps ticking, it doesn’t stop for anyone or anything.
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:16
Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. Col. 4:5
In other words, spending time on things that benefit the Kingdom,
not on fleshly desires.
God knows human lives are filled with obligations and wants and needs.
Jesus understands that, He also requires that we serve Him first and foremost.
Giving God our time is a very important way to serve Him.
We know that from hearing Him correct people from losing their first love
in the Book of Revelation, Chapter 2, verse 4:
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
and also He addressed those who had been lukewarm:
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot:
I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,
I will spue thee out of My mouth. Revelation 3:15-16
Those people mentioned were not following the Two Greatest Commandments:
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel;
The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these. Mark 12:29-31
If we disregard those two commandments
that encompass all other commandments , we are disappointing God.
Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. Ephesians 5:10
Not using time wisely is not beneficial for the Kingdom.
The cares of this world will always try to drown out the things of God.
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches,
and the lusts of other things entering in,
choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. Mark 4:19
The Lord knows how to help us organize our time and our attention.
If we give Him our best, we will then be able to complete what He has for us:
Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Proverbs 16:3
You might ask yourself: Who has your full attention?
If it is not the Lord, you can also ask Him how to put Him first.
It may be a hard transition at first,
but then, it will be awkward and off balance if you don’t.
