To Recognize Error is to Know the Truth

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” 1 John 4:1-6

Have you ever had a discussion with someone and you feel something is off, but you can’t quite figure out what it is? I have many times and if I ask them to confess that Jesus has come in the flesh or that Jesus is Lord, it is impossible for them to do. They cannot. So, speaking of people, you can ask them to confess Jesus Christ as their Lord. You will find out quickly if they are or are not walking in the truth. “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.” 1 Corinthians 12:3

If you are sitting in a church service and the Pastor is glorifying Jesus Christ as Lord, you can rest that He is walking in the truth, mainly from that. I went to a church and they sang about Jesus as my brother, as my friend. I knew that was wrong. Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, the Mighty, the Awesome and the Terrible God. “For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward” Deuteronomy 10:17

“These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of Lords, and King of Kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” Revelation 17:14

A friend of mine told me he told the Lord he was worried about falling away. The Lord Jesus responded: If you follow Me and not a man, you will not fall away.

Another friend told me, If Jesus is not the center, it is wrong. Jesus has to be the center of every teaching, every church, every preacher.

Choose to love the truth. When I was first a Christian, I found many things in the bible I did not like. I told the Lord so. I chose to realize that He is God and He sees all and He judges correctly. I have no right to tell Him what to do. I have since brought any concern before Him that I, as a human, may not like. I have chosen to humble myself and my self-righteous thoughts and have committed to submitting and humbling my thoughts to Jesus. “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”
2 Corinthians 10:5

To love the Truth is humility to Christ. He is the Truth. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
