For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer,
he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way,
and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein,
he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work,
this man shall be blessed in his deed. James 1:23-25
If you think back on all the things Jesus has taught you
since He has been calling you to Himself,
what percentage of what He taught you, do you remember?
What percentage did you put into action and actually practice?
Being a forgetful hearer would not benefit much of anything.
Being a doer of the work will mean our deeds will be blessed.
Jesus will see them, He will notice them and He will honor them.
Our deeds will be blessed if we are a doer of the word.
That is an amazing promise.
Why do you call Me Lord and do not do the things I say?
And why call ye Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:46
We are responsible for what we know.
We are also responsible for applying that knowledge.
We are responsible for what we learn, how we share,
and doing whatever the Lord gives us to do.
Jesus does not expect us to be perfect, but He does want us to give it our all.
He wants us to be a true reflection of Him and His word.
He will bless what we do for Him when we do what we do with a pure heart.
