Vain Safety will Fail

We hear the news
We have been given ideas from others, even fear
What is the best way to prepare?
We have heard of food shortages
Gas prices are rising which will affect all areas
The Economy is said to be on the verge of collapse
What is the best way to prepare?

We know we are to trust the Lord for all things in our lives,
that even if we had all our preparations as perfect as could be in the natural,
we still might be missing something

The only way we can be truly prepared is by trusting in the Lord,
drawing close to Him, listening to Him
and knowing He is our safety and hiding place

Does that mean we do nothing differently in the natural?
Not at all
We must seek His wisdom and council
Do what we already know to do

God knows exactly what we need
He might have things for you to do to prepare that you haven’t thought of
He knows what we will need tomorrow and next week,
next year all the way until we meet Jesus face to face

We need to seek Jesus and ask for His wisdom
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God,
that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;
and it shall be given him. James 1:5

God knows if you should buy this or that,
if you should store this or that
and what you will need to carry you and your loved ones through
Trusting only in what you have acquired will not be enough
Some trust in chariots and some in horses
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God
Vain safety is going to fail you

If we had no food and no water,
we would have to trust the Lord like the Israelites did in the wilderness
We have warnings, it seems wise to at least take those into account
and pray about them to make sure if God wants to give us instructions,
we heed them

So, we look at the question again: What is the best way to prepare?
Ask Jesus
He is the only One who knows your future and what you will need
Be confident that trusting in Him and seeking His wisdom will be enough
He might not provide everything you want,
but He is able to supply everything you need, if you trust Him

But my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19

Additional Scriptures:

Then said the Lord unto Moses,
Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you;
and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day,
that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Exodus 16:4

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
Psalm 20:7

There is no king saved by the multitude of an host:
a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
An horse is a vain thing for safety:
neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him,
upon them that hope in his mercy;
To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
Our soul waiteth for the Lord: He is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name.
Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
Psalm 33:16-22
