We all have a few things to say. It can be helpful to let off steam
about uncomfortable things that happen
or we might not be able to contain ourselves in the situation,
and it may come out in ways we don’t want it to.
That does not give us a pass to blast it all over the place.
The need to vent does not give us a reason to not forgive.
We are still instructed to love the enemy or those who have wronged us.
It surely does not give us the right to tell others
who may just harbor bad feelings about that wretched person that we are angry at.
The world tells us to share and get it off our chest. The bible also does tell us to:
Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2
Don’t leave Jesus out of the mix.
We are not to let the sun go down on our anger. We can be angry but sin not.
If we harbor offenses too long, it can cause trouble in our lives
and the relationships with the people we angry at.
Some people are cold hearted. They can be unkind and even plain mean.
Our responsibility is to forgive and let bygones be bygones.
You can pray to see if that relationship might be one the Lord would like you to spend less time on.
Sometimes He moves people out of our lives, just like when He said that He allows divorce for the hardness of hearts.
It can happen with friends, too.
God is working in our lives and sometimes He does move people in and out of our lives for His purposes.
Praying for them and wishing them to best is a good indication your heart is in the right place,
but always check with the Lord Jesus Himself.
Jesus has a way of shining the light way deep down to expose any sin or unforgiveness
that needs to be swept out.
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit
unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 1 Peter 1:22
Whether they are in your life or things have moved along, make sure you can still pray for them
and love them with God’s perfect love which is not born inside of us, but comes from God toward others.
That is a beautiful miracle from the Lord Jesus so we can recognize He has done a marvelous work in our hearts
to bring forth His love from us toward those who have wronged us.
Is venting okay?
If it is not producing bad fruit, it is okay.
It seems to me staying in the venting state can be damaging, so be careful.
It is fleshly and we ought not to stay there too long.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient:
all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. 1 Corinthians 10:23
