Walking in Pain and Grief
Jesus understands and He cares
He cares more than anyone cares
He understands more than anyone understands
He will walk you through
When you just want to grieve, when you need to grieve,
maybe a loss, maybe because you’ve been wounded,
Jesus will listen, even though He already knows all about it
He is our comforter
And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter,
that He may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive,
because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him;
for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:16-17
That comfort is something we can seek
God desires to comfort us, which is why He sent His own Spirit,
the Holy Spirit, to be with us, to live in us,
and to comfort us when we need it
In this world, we need it, sometimes, more than others
This world is full of darts and arrows that are bound to break through to us,
to hurt us, whether it is of our own doing or not
God is there for us to help us navigate,
even if we have made mistakes along the way
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation,
that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble,
by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 2 Cor. 1:3-4
Yes, so that one day, we can be used by God to comfort others
We most likely can remember a time when we comforted others,
or at least tried to
We will go through tribulations and be comforted in them, by the Lord Jesus
We will grow closer to the Lord and stronger in our faith
and, of course, trials and tribulations are part of this wretched, fallen world,
and they are bound to happen and, most likely, will cause us pain and grief
So be it, our comforter will come to us to help us heal and grow,
and then, onto the next trial, which somehow helps purify us and cleanses us
Not sure there is a way to end this subject,
it seems like it’s bound to happen again and again until we leave this world
These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation:
but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
