Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. James 4:17
As we grow closer to the Jesus, as we read more of His word,
we learn more of what He wants and expects from us as we follow Him.
We may be right about things that are sin.
If we warn others, we need to convey that in prayer
and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
There are grey areas of sin meaning the sin is so accepted in the culture,
that we cannot always explain to people how it is sin,
God Himself must open their eyes.
That does not mean things are not sin,
what it means is some acts are commonly accepted as sin,
it takes wisdom and fear of the Lord to know and recognize some sin.
Some examples might be yoga, gaming, watching horror movies,
listening to certain types of music, drinking alcohol or social drugs.
Those things are clearly sin to some,
while others struggle to understand how they are harmful.
They can absolutely be harmful to our relationship with God
and can also open doors of evil into our lives,
they can cause breaches in our armor.
When we struggle with something, if we are seeking the Lord,
He will help us to see that thing in question as He sees it.
There are many who want to do what they want to do
and won’t seek the Lord, but instead,
push the idea aside and do not want to find out more.
That is their choice.
We can’t run anyone’s lives, and if we try or succeed
in directing others’ decisions,
we may be given responsibility for all their choices.
Our children would be an exception, while they are in the house,
we can control what they watch, curb some of the things they participate in,
but it is always best to help the person seek God themselves,
even with our children. God knows how to talk to all of us.
Teaching children to ask God about their behavior
and help them to develop their relationship with Christ is of great value.
We are called to warn.
When Ezekiel warned the people, God did not ask Him to do more than that.
He did not tell Ezekiel to convince them or to argue with them.
He was told to warn them.
If they didn’t listen, then, that was on them.
And it came to pass at the end of seven days,
that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel:
therefore hear the word at My mouth, and give them warning from Me.
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die;
and thou givest him not warning,
nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life;
the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity;
but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness,
nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity;
but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness,
and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin,
and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered;
but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not,
and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned;
also thou hast delivered thy soul. Ezekiel 3:16-21
Do your best to make sure you are really warning people from God.
Consider what He is giving you to say and say it.
Don’t add self if you can help it.
We can’t fix anyone.
Pray and be obedient.
