Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8
Satan is seeking to devour you.
Just like God is always looking to support those whose hearts are His,
Satan is looking to destroy those who will be enticed, led astray.
If Satan can’t get to you, he’ll get to those around you.
He’s always lurking, always ready to strike, using the willing.
Jesus told us to watch and pray.
He told the disciples to watch and pray
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation:
the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41
Satan is called the old serpent.
He is like a snake, slithery, sneaky, ready to strike and cause injury or harm.
Staying under the Lord’s protection is vital.
The closer we are to Jesus and His ways,
the less likely the devil’s attacks will catch us by surprise.
If we entertain his thoughts, we will get caught in a snare.
Seal up any breaches in your armour.
He knows how to catch his prey.
He has been using the same old tactics from the very beginning.
He often appears as an angel of light,
he might even mention the Most High God, but soon,
his tactics are apparent and his ways are revealed.
Not all will see, but only those who love the truth.
Those who choose the lies will be caught in them and ensnared.
When Jesus said watch and pray, He was not speaking lightly.
Watching for the efforts of the evil one,
praying that we are not led into temptation, as in the Lord’s prayer,
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Keep your focus on Jesus.
Keep praying, keep watching, keep the word in your heart.

Revelation 20:2
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,
and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Ephesians 6:11-18
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
