We are at God’s Mercy
When a house is in the pending state,
a lot of things can happen to fail the sale
The house is not sold until it is recorded and funded
and it has been entered into the permanent records
That is the same way while we are on Earth
Until we have been judged, we remain at God’s mercy
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebrews 9:27
There are many promises in the bible
We must carefully read and understand and not assume
It is with prayerful reverence toward God
that we can be assured of our salvation,
but each person must come to God
in the same way those who came to God while Jesus walked on the Earth, individually
Jesus can and does assure us or not, but seeking Him is a must
No human can tell us whether we are saved or not
Not a single one, no matter how prestigious they are
We each must come before God to hear and know from Him ourselves
In the same way,
He will or will not acknowledge us before His Father and His angels
Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess Me before men,
him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
But he that denieth Me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
Luke 12:8-9
Does this cause a bit of fear inside of you?
Better now than later
Humble yourself before God and make sure you are right with Him
Step down off the pretentious stance and kneel before Him
Retain that position in your life
Whenever you start to think of yourself as entitled,
remind yourself that Jesus is Lord and you serve Him
Paul explains how God does not want us to be prideful of how we are adopted and that some of the Jews are not following Jesus :
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou,
being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them,
and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
Boast not against the branches.
But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith.
Be not highminded, but fear:
For if God spared not the natural branches,
take heed lest he also spare not thee. Romans 11:17-21
We will remain at His mercy
until we are given or refused entrance into Heaven
Humility
Faith
Fear
Remembering that He is the Lord of Heaven and Earth
and all that is within them
Jesus is our Lord and Savior
We cannot save ourselves no matter how good and righteous we are,
No matter how many scriptures we quote
nor how many wonderful things we do in Jesus’ name
Each person must work out their own salvation with fear and trembling
God is not obligated to do anything for us
We remain at His mercy
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed,
not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence,
work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12
