When I was young and a new Christian,
a lady I babysat for
told me she was scared she wouldn’t go to Heaven
I could not understand her fear
She was a Christian
She read her bible
She even went to church
She had a cross hanging in her house
She seemed of all that I knew to be heading in the right direction
I told her, “You’re going to Heaven. You don’t have to worry. You’re a Christian, you’ve accepted the Lord.”
She seemed somewhat comforted by my words.
When I went home and I was alone with the Lord, He said to me, very clearly: “Do not ever tell anyone they are going to heaven again. That is not your place!”
I saw the lady the next day and told her what the Lord had said to me. She had concern in her eyes.
That particular lady was also an adulteress I found out years later. Her husband had divorced her because of it. I do not know if she repented before the Lord.
We do not sit in the judgment seat of Christ
We cannot send anyone to Heaven, including ourselves
neither can we condemn anyone to Hell
No Church or Pastor can give you permission to enter Heaven,
no religion,
not even Christianity
Every person must seek God and come to an assurance on this matter
We all will stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ
It is best to reconcile with Him now
rather than wait until Judgment Day
That way, if there is anything blocking your way,
you can ask Him to reveal it to you and ask for forgiveness and repent
Do not have a false sense of security about your salvation
Don’t be too sure of yourself
if you have not been given assurance from God Himself
We all must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling:
“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Philippians 2:12
It is before God we must give account for every deed we have done,
every idle word we have spoken
and every choice we have made
We have no way to be assured about anyone else’s Salvation
Each person must seek God for him or herself
