What does your future hold?
That depends.
That depends on your choices.
It depends on who is in control in your life.
it depends on many things.
If you have given your life to our Creator, the Maker of Heaven and Earth,
you are in good hands. His Son, Jesus Christ, has paved your way.
Trusting Him can be the hard part.
Even the Israelites, who had Moses as their leader,
had a hard time following God.
Even when He had done many miracles and signs and wonders
that they could see, they would forget when times got tough.
The disciples had a hard time trusting Jesus.
Even when they knew Him personally.
So, don’t be so hard on yourself.
Admitting our weaknesses allows God to show His strength.
If we think we are so strong and we don’t seek Him for our needs,
He may just let us fail.
Esther had to risk her life.
She was a strong person. That strength did not come on her own.
She had to be reminded of who she was and what her purpose was.
God gave her a wise uncle.
The famous saying, You were born for such a time as this is quoted often:
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time,
then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews
from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed:
and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom
for such a time as this? Esther 4:14
God chose to put us on this Earth during these End Times for a reason.
God is very intentional.
Times in our life, we may realize we were born for such a time as this.
With Esther’s life story, we can see that her whole life was prepared
and that events occurred to lay out her path to become a Queen.
God gave her position and honor and grace in the eyes of the King,
after He created the circumstances
to expose who Queen Vashti was to the King.
God allowed an event to show Vashti’s true nature toward the King.
Esther’s uncle Mordecai taught her what honor was.
He prepared her to be an honorable woman.
Mordecai had to remind Esther that her life was for a purpose
and she needed to be courageous
and stand up for God and her people, the Jews.
We do not know our future.
We like to think we know.
We like to make plans for many years down the road,
for our vacations, for our retirement,
for where we might live when we are old.
The Israelites were called to leave Egypt with what they could bring.
They were directed by the Lord, step by step.
Many of them did not like living that way.
Even with all the miracles, they wanted to be in control of their own lives.
This is not what I believe God is calling us to do right now.
We don’t have a Moses directing us, but we have One far greater,
that is the Holy Spirit, who leads us and guides us.
He is calling us not to choose our own way, but, rather, His way.
The Israelites had a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of cloud by night.
And the Lord went before them by day
in a pillar of a cloud to lead them the way,
and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, to go by day and night.
He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night from before the people. Exodus 13:21-22
There is no way to know how God is going to lead us and guide us
in our present day. He will help us as we need.
He has not changed and is still capable of doing miracles,
but sometimes, those miracles are not the same as we want them to be.
God still shows His great power and direction today.
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen Me,
thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen,
and yet have believed. John 20:29
Or how can we forget the father who cried out to Jesus:
And straightway the father of the child cried out,
and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Matthew 9:24
He is there for all of us.
It is up to us to seek Him, to follow Him, to obey Him.
That is the work Jesus told us to engage in while we are here on Earth.
We cannot be lazy in our faith or our faith may not be there when we need it.
Remember the 5 wise and 5 foolish virgins in Matthew 25:1-13?
That time is upon us.
