If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love,
I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1 WEB
If you want to be clanging cymbal or a noisy gone, or a banner without substance, a banner without the message of Jesus, one that does not reflect your Maker, one who does not reflect Jesus, then, let your love grow cold.
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Matthew 24:12
A Christian without love is lifeless and void of a true connection of God.
We cannot pretend to love. It must come from deep within.
If it is difficult, that is normal at first, until the flow starts.
It is a choice in humility before God to let His love through you or me as a vessel.
Jesus values love. God is love.
To be a beneficial, worthwhile Christian, love is vital.
If not, you might as well sit this out,
until you can get back in the race in humility, in His way.
A Christian without love is pretty much useless.
They are thinking of themselves and not others and not God,
just them and their needs, wants and desires.
God wants us to love others.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
God is not interested in those who are without love.
He wants us to love our enemies.
He wants us to do good to those who abuse us.
He wants us to love the brethren, so that we might be called the sons of God.
The idea of loving as God would love is a bit complex.
Some people don’t know how to love.
They don’t love themselves much,
so loving others as they love themselves might just be what they are doing.
Those people need extra love.
Unless they are so haughty that they cannot even accept
and learn about God’s love for them and for others.
We still are encouraged to love them and demonstrate His goodness.
Or despisest thou the riches of His goodness
and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that
the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? Romans 2:4
They, or you, have to get to a point where God can teach you His love for you, then, you can share it with others.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye?
for sinners also love those that love them.
And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye?
for sinners also do even the same.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye?
for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again;
and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest:
for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Luke 6:31-36
Jesus is our example of how we treat others.
He was kind to the unthankful and to the evil.
The idea of loving others is simple, but it is not always easy.
