If you go to others’ commentary to get your daily bread from the Lord…
or your social media feed…
or your favorite preacher…
or your favorite author…
or your favorite podcaster…
or your friend whom you know hears from the Lord…
You are searching for day-old-bread,
not the true, Living Word from God
To find out what God is saying to you, listen to Jesus,
seek Him, pray and learn from Him, just you and Him.
Jesus will speak to you sometimes from others, but what He wants to teach you is important and though you may learn things about Him from others,
the richness of His self will come from your communing with Him.
Learning from others is a sort of milk.
It is second-hand, not fresh manna.
There can be value in that and that also can be likened to gems and treasures.
Those realizations can edify you and teach you
and it is important to share and learn from others.
At times, you know God is teaching you something from other people,
but it is also important to seek Him on your own. Just you and Him.
To learn what He wants you to know straight from the source.
Straight from the well, straight from His hand,
straight from His word by His Holy Spirit.
He wants to commune with each of us,, to teach us directly,
to spend time with us, to reveal secrets of the Kingdom to each of us.
While seeking Jesus, your relationship with Him will increase
and you will be able to bless others as well.
Don’t be content just listening to others and what they have received.
Seek to hear God from yourself and your relationship with Him will flourish.
And because you have been seeking Him,
He will know you and you will know Him.
Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in Thy presence,
and Thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you,
I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
Luke 13:26-27
