What is the difference between the letter of the Law and the Spirit?
What is the difference between following ordinances and doctrines
and following Jesus?
The Spirit gives life
Jesus is not dead
He is alive
He cannot be boxed in
He cannot be hindered or stopped
He fills Heaven and Earth
His majesty is above the thoughts of man
Higher than any mountain and
deeper than the depths of the sea
His wisdom is infinite
His mercy is grand
There is no way to reach the end of His grace
His love is unfailing
It never ends
The doctrines of man try to limit God
They demand you do this and that to obtain God’s favor,
to please Him
But this is the one to whom I will look…
For all those things hath Mine hand made,
and all those things have been,” saith the Lord.
“But to this man will I look:
even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit,
and trembleth at My word. Isaiah 66:2
When David was a young lad, Samuel anointed him to be King over Israel
God had appointed him
God had prepared his heart up until that moment
He was not afraid of lions or bears
and certainly not afraid of an uncircumcized Philistine 1 Samuel 17
God knew David would be a strong and faithful leader of God’s people
God knows what He is doing
He has His reasons
He has His purposes
He is faithful to His word
If we allow God to direct our steps
He will fulfill His purpose in our lives
He will not force us
He will lead us
Some will not make it
Some will be less than
Less than what God wants them to be
Less than what God desires for them
Some believe that all is laid out before the beginning of time
God is all-knowing, this is true
He knows what we will choose and how we will respond
Nothing is a surprise to Him
He still calls
He created us in His image and loved the world
It’s a mystery
He opens the doors for us to go through
He also shuts doors
Still, do your best
We will be judged for every deed, whether it be good or evil
Not forgetting that:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Cultivate your relationship with Jesus so you really know Him
Let Him fill your heart
Replenish your joy in His word
Let Him cleanse you from within and lavish your soul
as you spend time in His inner chambers
Eat the Bread of Life, Jesus, His word
Let Him satisfy your thirst
Today if you hear His voice, harden not your heart
