When it feels like God has failed you

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them:
for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee;
He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6

So many examples in the Old and New Testaments
where God’s people have felt like He failed them

The Israelites when they couldn’t find God
and decided to make their own god
Abel must’ve felt that way when his brother decided to kill him
Joseph when his brothers sold him into slavery
Job felt that way
and Jonah,
Esther
and Nehemiah
and Jesus
and the Lazarus’ family
and the disciples

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice,
saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say,
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Matthew 27:46

In each example, there was a purpose
Either for death or suffering or stretching of and building of faith
Maybe it was for building our faith,
we who would read their accounts many years later
Sometimes it was for a consequence of the evil of humanity
which is a terrible part of our world, that was a failure of man

Most of the examples mentioned, you can see where God was,
why He allowed such things to happen
Understanding seems to come after the fact
Trusting God through thick and thin is what we should strive for
We can find God in our weakest moments,
our most painful times, He is there
He is always there and He doesn’t actually fail us
even though it might feel like that sometimes

But let him that glorieth glory in this,
that he understandeth and knoweth Me,
that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness,
judgment, and righteousness, in the earth:
for in these things I delight, saith the Lord. Jeremiah 9:24
