Sometimes He’s quiet
We know He’s there
We know He cares,
What He’s told us,
What He has taught us,
but He’s quiet
He’s God
He doesn’t have to speak
He doesn’t have to let us know He’s there
He has His reasons
Is it that He’s too busy?
That He can’t hear us?
He knows our every thought so that can’t be
He’s always with us
He said, I will never leave you nor forsake you
When Moses would leave the people to go spend time with the Lord,
the people grew restless
We grow restless when we can’t hear from God
We know He’s there
We need reminders
We need confirmation that He is near,
that He still cares,
that He’s still listening,
that He is still working
He also deserves confirmations from us,
just like any relationship
Sure, He knows everything
What is our responsibility in this relationship?
We have one
We have to make efforts, otherwise, we are just stones
Our spirits are alive
But what is more alive?
Our flesh or our spirit?
Maybe that is why He withdraws Himself
So we can feel His absence
The only way to stay close to God is to continually seek Him
To draw near to Him
To stay hot, on fire,
not be lukewarm
If we allow the cares of this world to encroach on our relationship with God,
we are missing out
And God is missing us
So the next time, you feel far away from God, you are not being ignored
You are being reminded how much He wants to spend time with you
You must do your part
And He is always there for you, for any of us
God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him
