We all know we aren’t supposed to fear
Easier said than done sometimes
We know we serve an all-powerful God
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28
Head knowledge does not always do the job
We have to know it way, deep down, inside
We have to walk in this world,
knowing that He is in charge, in control of our lives
We would do well to release our fears to Him
Ask Him to strengthen our faith in Him, even though we cannot see Him
We have seen what He has already done and sometimes we forget
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen Me,
thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen,
and yet have believed. John 20:29
We have to remind ourselves, ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen us in Him
Spending time with Jesus helps, reading His word helps, lifting Him up helps,
Doing all the things we know to do helps, but we still lose it sometimes
We lose our focus, our resolve,
our ability to keep Him at the center of our lives
That’s because we get distracted by the things in life that happen
The things we can see hear and smell
Sometimes events and duties pull us away from our focal point, Jesus
We’d like to be a Mary, but life has its responsibilities
and it’s not always so easy to sit at Jesus’ feet
Jesus knows that
He also still expects to be first in our lives
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot:
I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm,
and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Revelation 3:15-16
Maintaining our relationship with God takes effort,
so does putting aside worldly tasks and lusts
that compel us to lose our focus
Choosing to keep Jesus at the forefront of our lives
Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:17
The wicked, through the pride of his countenance,
will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. Psalm 10:4
