Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth Colossians 3:2 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21
Those two scriptures flow together so well.
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4
In other words, if you have been born again, you are dead to the old, fleshly man.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21
Not a lot needs to be said about these two scriptures and surrounding passages. We are encouraged here to keep our minds on Jesus and the heavenly realm.
I was reminded recently of a time when I was terrified of flying. I petitioned the Lord and committed my fear to Him. I then saw His two hands cupped together, holding me inside them. I have remained there since I had that picture. He is the One I desire and seek after and look to fulfill what cannot be satisfied here on earth.
