Who can we trust?
We can trust some people for some things.
We can trust some people to be there for us.
They might meet our level of trust.
No human can be relied upon at the same level that we can rely on God.
If we trust any human to teach us the entirety of the gospel, we are in danger.
That statement does not mean we cannot learn from others.
Of course we can and do.
The clarification is that if we trust any other human to be our leader,
when the Holy Spirit is the One who is our teacher, we are in spiritual danger.
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ;
and all ye are brethren. Matthew 23:8
And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord;
and great shall be the peace of thy children. Isaiah 54:13
There are many wonderful teachers and preachers of The Bible.
They are men. They should never be given the same credence we give God.
They can fail, they can teach amiss.
Our ultimate teacher is the Holy Spirit.
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come,
He will guide you into all truth:
for He shall not speak of Himself;
but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak:
and He will shew you things to come. John 16:13
The Holy Spirit leads us and guides us into all truth.
We do not need a human intermediary.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus; 1 Timothy 2:5
There is no one in between us and God, do not put a human there.
