Whosoever Shall Seek to Save his Life Will Lose it

You can’t hold onto anything in this world
If you seek to save something, you will lose it
A law of God
He promised that If we give up our earthly possessions
and fleshly desires to Him, we will attain much more important things

Jesus talked to us about our earthly treasures:
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21

The eye has not seen nor has the ear heard
the good things that God has for those who wait for Him
If we trust Jesus with our most precious possessions
and people for that matter,
our hopes and dreams, anything in this world that is important to us,
if we offer our earthly treasures to Him on His altar,
and let Him use our lives for His glory,
we will be surprised at times at how quickly we can let go
and will sometimes suffer grief
of our own earthly kingdom being torn down
What is really taking place is the building of His kingdom in our lives
Let go of your love of the world,
place it on His altar
if any man love the world
the love of the father is not in Him

When the flesh is torn away or put under submission to the Holy Spirit,
we will often feel it
we may even mourn its loss

We must not cling to anything, even up to and including our lives
The admonition is: Completely give your life and all its contents to serve Him
Offer to Him those things that you hold dear
both physical and other things you cherish such as noble attributes
Be willing to offer it all to Him on the Cross
There should be nothing to hang your hat on
Apart from Him, we are empty, useless vessels
Dying to the flesh
Taking up our crosses daily
Putting our hand to the plough
and not looking back lest we turn into a pillar of salt
