Why am I Here?

You don’t need me
Why did you make me?
What use am I?
Where do I make a difference in this world that is filled with so many people? How can I help the mission?
I am just one person with many faults
I don’t always say the right thing or do the right thing
I offend people
I don’t always act in love
I surely don’t always obey your commandments
I delay to forgive
I don’t give as I should
I am, in all fairness, not the best example of a Christian
I look around at others who are so together,
whose lives seem to exemplify You and are a good witness for You
And then there is me

Dear Child,
Do you remember the tax gatherer who beat his chest and refused to look to heaven? That he was more justified than the one who thought he was perfect? Do you not remember the many faults and abases committed by my servants throughout the bible? Do you think there was one perfect one besides My Son? There was not. Paul, after his conversion was not able to even though I struck him blind to get a message through to him. While I am your strength when you seek Me, you will never attain perfection on your own, without My help. Keep striving, that is what I ask, keep looking to Me to teach you, to strengthen you, to remind you of My ways, of My commandments and of My love toward others. Trust that I see your heart. I do not look at you the same way you see yourself. Whether a man is seemingly perfect or not is not how I see. I look on the thoughts and intentions of the heart. I also look for humility toward Me.

Scriptural References:

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Matthew 24:12

Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Matthew 22:36-40

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Luke 18:9-14

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink. Acts 9:3-9

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. Isaiah 66:2
