Without Jesus

I just read a social media post
of a man who is about to give up on Christianity
He said, “I can’t stand your condescending pontificating.”

To me, that’s an easy one to figure out
He has been following man’s doctrine and has become displeased
I spent a few minutes on his feed
I noticed he had recorded and shared
many terrible atrocities that have been done by Christians
Stealing, fleecing the sheep and a host of other things
He is jaded by the church and rightly so
This is a difficult situation God is dealing with
as Judgment begins in the household of God

I maintain that loving the truth is where we all need to be
That means loving what is good and true and righteous
and despising that which is evil and abhorrent to God
It also means humbling ourselves before His word as His word is truth

We cannot blame God for what people do, how people twist the truth,
how they twist His word and take advantage of good, well-meaning people
The church has not been pure
It seems when people are there, it gets defiled
That even happened with Moses
and the people who were led out of Captivity in Egypt
The ones who saw the Red Sea become two walls while they passed through

The prophets heard from the Lord many times
to get the message to the people
to get back in unison with God and His ways
People tend to stray away from Jesus
With this particular man, it seems he had allowed people
to muddy his relationship with Christ

The characters in the bible who were closest with God
had a strong relationship with Him
They were dedicated to Him and put Him first
That was not true with Solomon
He chose his foreign wives, wives who served other gods,
even though wisdom warned him to stay away from them
Where was his relationship with God?
It’s impossible to see
His father King David’s devotion and fondness of God is easy to see

Without Jesus, God’s word is emptiness
Without the realization of His reverence and true delight in Him,
we will fail without realizing our efforts mean squat
We will fail to recognize His importance and His place in the universe
That where He is is the most majestic place to be
When He has opened our eyes to see who He is, He will become our focus
There will be no one or nothing else that can satisfy

And I saw no temple therein:
for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

Revelation 21:22

Scriptural References:

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God:
and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them
that obey not the gospel of God?
1 Peter 4:17

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2 Thessalonians 2:10

For it came to pass, when Solomon was old,
that his wives turned away his heart after other gods:
and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God,
as was the heart of David his father.
1 Kings 11:4

Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord,
and turned not aside from any thing that He commanded him
all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
1 Kings 15:5
