But when they deliver you up,
take no thought how or what ye shall speak:
for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
For it is not ye that speak,
but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. Matthew 10:19-20
This is one of the warnings Jesus gave us
We do not know which ones of us will stand before men
and be given the words to speak
We do know it will happen to some
Some will be betrayed by family members:
And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death,
and the father the child:
and the children shall rise up against their parents,
and cause them to be put to death. Matthew 10:21
The many warnings Jesus gave us
are to prepare us for what we may face
or what we might see our fellow brethren face
Just like He warned the disciples before He was crucified
He told them He would die and be raised on the third day:
He is not here, but is risen:
remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men,
and be crucified, and the third day rise again. Luke 24:6-7
Some people teach that these warnings have already come to pass
Some people teach that we will be rescued beforehand
Jesus warned us for a reason
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives,
the disciples came unto him privately, saying,
Tell us, when shall these things be?
and what shall be the sign of thy coming,
and of the end of the world? Matthew 24:3
Jesus warned us so we would know that these things are coming
and so that our hearts are as prepared as they can be
and that each of us will know
persecution up to death is a potential possibility
And when he had opened the fifth seal,
I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God,
and for the testimony which they held:
And they cried with a loud voice, saying,
How long, O Lord, holy and true,
dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
Revelation 6:9-10
The times Jesus spoke of are near
We do not know our fate unless the Holy Spirit has shown you
He will give us the words to respond and the strength we need to endure
