Yielding is letting the other guy go, giving your friend your time when you don’t have it,
making an extra place at the table when you have little to share.
it is giving up what you want to do and considering others better than yourself.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:5
So, what if being meek is mainly for God? For Jesus?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me. Matthew 25:40
Meekness is a willingness to be submissive.
Is Jesus at the helm?
Meekness is not the same as being a pushover or being controlled or manipulated.
It is a willingness to relinquish your will to God.
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek,
turn to him the other also.
And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Matthew 5:39-42
Let them win. Jesus is saying, let them win, even when you’re right.
Don’t squabble about it, God will repay them for any evil done to you, put it in His hands and let it go.
It is not easy to do. Practice makes perfect.
Give them their way, forget about it.
A Parable about Bikes
I lived in a town with many bicyclists. They made traffic laws. There were still tragic accidents and some deaths.
The ones that caught my attention were the ones where the bike riders had the right-of-way,
and because of the laws, they went when it was not wise to do so. They died.
The truck was not supposed to turn right since the bicyclist had the right-of-way. The bicyclists died.
Many accidents and deaths could have been avoided and the outcome would have been different
had both of those people been more humble. The drivers and the bicyclists.
It’s not easy to let someone who is wrong win.
In the end, it is up to God to judge as He sees the motives and the intents of the heart and action.
He is the only one who can. That is why yielding to Him is the best form of action.
The guy was a jerk? In every single situation, Vengeance belongs to the Lord.
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written,
Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12:19
