If you have chosen to follow Christ Jesus, you are in the midst of a battle.
The greatest battle is for your soul.
You are not necessarily safe from the devil because you follow Jesus the Christ or because you believe.
You still must persevere and endure and choose Jesus time and time again.
You will have many offers from Satan.
He will entice your flesh. He will beguile you with things to get you off-track.
There will be no end to his devices.
Once he finds he cannot entice you or control you, he will still attack you.
He will hunt you like a predator goes after its prey.
If he cannot coerce you, he will befuddle you.
He will deceive you and cause you as much misery as he can.
The good thing is that we have Jesus and greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
That does not mean you will not suffer attacks from that old foe, the devil or his minions.
The Bible teaches us in many ways how the Lord fights our battles for us.
He also tells us that we are to resist the devil.
He will have to flee from us if, that is if, we have submitted to God.
We make our choices and sometimes those choices are several times a day,
to choose God’s will and not our own.
The battle we are fighting and hopefully conquering is an on-going process.
Hence we have the Put on the Full Armour of God instructions in Ephesians.
Prayer, fasting, following God’s word and His commandments will help us stay on track.
Learning His word, asking for wisdom and discernment, staying in touch with Jesus,
meditating on His word and loving the truth and fearing God will all make that battle easier.
As we are not really the ones who fight, but God fights for us.
Another battle we must not forget is our own battle with our flesh.
God can and does help us win that as well.

The Full Armour of God
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,
and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Ephesians 6:10-17
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Matthew 24:13
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about,
seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter 5:8
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan,
which deceiveth the whole world:
he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 12:9
For the Lord your God is He that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.
Deuteronomy 20:4
Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
