And ye shall know that I am the Lord,
when I shall bring you into the land of Israel,
into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers. Ezekiel 20:42
God said Ye shall know that I am the Lord
It was always a promise, that those who didn’t yet believe
would come to know that He was the Lord, The Lord God Almighty
Sometimes, He spoke those words
after a promise of Judgment or punishment,
so that the people who ignored Him and His warnings,
refusing to follow His ways were shown Who He was,
His awesome power and sovereignty
He told this to the prophets, so the people could hear and repent
if they desired to do so, if somehow they had enough faith,
to believe God was able to do what He said He was going to do
Surely the Lord God will do nothing,
but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets. Amos 3:7
Jonah’s prophetic word was an example of the people humbling themselves and acknowledging the fear of the Lord
God turned His anger away because the people truly repented
Jonah was the one in the story that ended up in the most hot water with God
First Jonah refused to give the word of the Lord,
then he gave it and the whole town repented and averted the judgment
And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves,
O My people, and brought you up out of your graves,
And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live,
and I shall place you in your own land:
then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it,
saith the Lord. Ezekiel 37:13-14
In this passage, God was talking of
getting people out of their spiritual death and living
By living spiritually, we are more apt to hear God and His warnings for us,
not to mention, our relationships with God will be much more profound
He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet
shall receive a prophet’s reward;
and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man
shall receive a righteous man’s reward. Matthew 10:41
When God plans something, it most often comes with a last call,
a chance to repent before whatever God has planned will come to pass
I believe we are in such a time at present
Despise not prophesyings. 1 Thessalonians 5:20
