Jesus, You are the word
Your word is our guide
Your word does not come back void
It always accomplishes Your purpose
Your word satisfies, replenishes, renews
It is alive
It is active
Your word is sharper than any two-edged sword
It pierces
It divides the good from the bad
It brings fear of You and who You are
Your word becomes a part of us, when we believe You are Lord
as Your word says
Your word is everlasting
Always speaking
Forever true
Your word is truth
For you are the Truth.
You are Your word
If anyone wishes to learn of You,
he or she must read Your word
This is how one learns of God
Your word increases faith in You
Your word reminds us of what You have already done
so we can look forward to what You are now doing in our lives,
in our countries, in our world.
Your word has given us the future
Your word can read us like a book
Your word searches out our deepest desires, reveals our faults
Your word shows us where we have been renewed in You
Let us be faithful to highly esteem Your word,
to give it the due respect it deserves.
The answers to life and death are there.
The answers to everything that concerns us.
You have left nothing vital out, no stone unturned.
Let us find in Your word pleasures forevermore.
Teach us to bow to your word,
even if we, in our earthly minds, do not like what it says.
Let us learn whatever You are trying to teach us each moment.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
