Jesus encouraged us, Occupy until I come.
While we are mindful of the times, there is much work to be done before His glorious Second Coming.
We shall be surprised and astonished and accepted in His presence.
Though not all will be accepted. Some, Jesus will sadly turn away and cast into outer darkness.
Beware of entitlement and assumptions.
Jesus is looking for humility and the fear of God, and those who follow Him with their whole heart.
My greatest admonition is to go before His throne
and ask Him to reveal anything to you that might keep you from entering His kingdom.
Do not assume. Ask Him to show you and obey what He tells you.
Retain the fear of God in your heart.
The great King Solomon did not retain the fear of God.
How wise was he really on his own and how did he lose the fear of God?
He disobeyed the commandment of God: Do not marry strange wives or they will lead you astray.
Solomon was so sure of himself, he didn’t think he had to follow that admonition.
Yes he did, need to heed the warning from God,
otherwise he would not be able to remain in the presence of the Lord.
He made his choice.
And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel,
which had appeared unto him twice,
And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods:
but he kept not that which the Lord commanded. 1 Kings 11:9-10
If apostasy can happen to Solomon, it can happen to anyone.
Another king, the very first King of Israel, Saul, also refused to obey the Lord.
He was also entitled and too sure of himself.
There have been many before and since who did not obey, who did things their own way:
Cain, Esau, Judas, Ananias and Sapphira and many others along the way. Some were Kings, some were persons of low degree. They all had the same opportunity, to seek the Lord and to follow His ways.
It all comes to a choice on our part.
When Joshua said: As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, that has not changed.
On the outside, it looks different for different people, but the sentiment is the same.
It is much harder to hold the line now as there is so much evil around us.
The strength of God is there for the asking and asking Him is also a choice.
Trying to understand His word and love the truth is also a choice.
Bringing Jesus our hearts and our fears and our misgivings remains a choice.
Giving Him what we want to, like Cain did, will not cut it. God wants from us what He wants.
He explains it in His word.
If it is not clear, ask Him to teach you by His Holy Spirit.
None of this is easy.
Jesus never said it would be easy.
In Jesus’ days and in these last days, we struggle and have great need for our Savior.
Let us not forget to be good stewards with our time until He returns.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household,
to give them meat in due season?
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him,
and in an hour that he is not aware of,
And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites:
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 24:45-51
