Giving God what you think He wants is not the best idea.
It is better to keep in line with what He has told us in His word.
The first guy who did what he thought God wanted, but he did not not do what God wanted
was the guy who hid his talent.
He was told to occupy until his master returned.
That man earned nothing and his master was less than pleased.
For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given;
and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him. Luke 19:26
God is very clear about what He wants.
Obedience is better than sacrifice.
If God asks for something, don’t give Him something else.
Those people whom Jesus will say, ‘Depart from Me!’ were thinking Jesus wanted one thing
when they were sorely mistaken.
Jesus gave us the greatest two commandments which cover all.
Follow those. Learn these and let the Holy Spirit show you how to interweave them into all that you do.
Here is what God wants:
And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together,
and perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him,
Which is the first commandment of all?
And Jesus answered him,
The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these. Mark 12:28-31
Jesus is not looking for ways to be disappointed. It will just happen.
He makes things clear so we can understand and will clarify to us the things that aren’t understood.
