Hot or Cold

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot:
I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,
I will spue thee out of my mouth. Revelation 3:15-16

Nobody wants to be cast aside by anyone, especially God
If you lack what it takes to please God, it is going to happen
While we are given Salvation as a gift,
it is not ours to keep without Jesus being involved
Salvation and Jesus come as a package deal
We do and always will be reliant on His grace
We must not take grace for granted and cast Him aside
Fear God

How do we get hot, on fire for God?
What does it take?
How are we sure we are pleasing Him?

Before you read further,
please pray that God will reveal anywhere you may be lacking in His sight
He will show you
He may show you as you read this and it may be later on,
but He will show you if your prayer is sincere
He wants nothing more than to fellowship with each of us on a deep level
For our candles to burn brightly for Him

Putting God first
Letting Him live in you and through you
Fearing Him
Those are just to name a few

As you read the gospels, you will see there are many lessons
and parables about putting God first
Selling all that you have to buy the field:
Treasure in the Field
The Ten Virgins
The Pearl of Great Price
And many more…
The Ninety and Nine
All these remind us
that our ultimate goal is to value Him, Jesus Christ, Crucified

If any of us does not value Jesus, He knows it
The level of importance that you have given Jesus in your life
or lack thereof is no secret to Him
Where does the fear of God rank in importance in your life?
Do you take Him for granted?
Even perhaps take salvation for granted?
Remember, Salvation is a gift, not a right
We will be held responsible for every choice we make,
every idle word we speak and every deed, whether it be good or evil
He sees and knows every secret thought we have,
He knows every time we have chosen to disobey His word
and follow our own lusts
While that sounds impossible, it is, without Jesus
Remember that, keep things on the table with God,
Don’t try to be good on your own
Our righteousness is as filthy rags
He is the vine, we are the branches

Carry your cross daily

To be hot, on fire for Jesus, in the simplest form
means to give Him the preeminence in everything
Everything
Let your heart not wander from Him
Care about the things that He cares about,
which are clearly written in His word
And, to know our Savior intimately,
to come before His throne often and fervently
We all must continue to humble ourselves,
We ought to keep checking in with Him
continue to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling,
make, sure we’re on track with what He is asking of each of us
and then to care about and do our best
to apply His desires in each of our lives

Scriptural References:

But we preach Christ crucified,
unto the Jews a stumblingblock,
and unto the Greeks foolishness;
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks,
Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men;
and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1 Corinthians 1:23-25

For God shall bring every work into judgment,
with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:14

Who is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn of every creature:
For by him were all things created,
that are in heaven, and that are in earth,
visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones, or dominions,
or principalities, or powers:
all things were created by him, and for him:
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead;
that in all things he might have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross,
by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say,
whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
And you, that were sometime alienated
and enemies in your mind by wicked works,
yet now hath he reconciled
In the body of his flesh through death,
to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
Colossians 1:15-22

What? know ye not
that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost
which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1 Corinthians 6:19

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28

But we are all as an unclean thing,
and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;
and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities,
like the wind, have taken us away.
Isaiah 64:6

I am the vine, ye are the branches:
He that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing.
John 15:5

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed,
not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence,
work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12
