There is a natural law about justice.
That law is: what you sow, that will you reap.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7
Spend time or resources doing good or bad and you shall get the return.
That is also a spiritual law.
You get what you give.
When God performs Justice, that can take a while.
While we read in His word all the different things that happened to those in history,
we did not have to wait long for justice to be performed, maybe a chapter or sometimes more.
Justice happened and we are then reminded, Vengeance does belong to Him.
He sometimes waits and gives people room to repent, as was in the case of Nineveh,
when they repented in ashes and with fasting, crying out to God for His mercy.
Sometimes justice was very swift, like when God punished Cain for killing Abel.
What about Joseph’s brothers? They plotted and schemed and it took many years for them to be brought to Justice.
The Justice was different than one might expect, God spared their lives,
and they bowed down to Joseph, just like in his dream.
We can look back on Jezebel’s wicked deeds. She got her just reward.
Elijah suffered at her hands and went into hiding.
God finally came through for him and he saw God’s word fulfilled that she became as dung on the face of the Earth.
God did not like her to put it mildly. Still, Justice was not exactly swift.
She was allowed to do much evil before she died.
Those stories of historical faith give us hope and knowledge that God is who He says He is,
and He says what He is going to do and does it. There is no question about that.
In our present day circumstances, we see God working at times and at other times,
we wonder when He will work as it seems there is an explosion of evil on the Earth.
He is always working even when we cannot see it.
He is always working even when we cannot feel it.
And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem,
and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
Ezekiel 9:4
God has His timing since He sees all and knows all. He will perform Justice when Justice is due.
And I heard the angel of the waters say,
Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because Thou hast judged thus.
For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and Thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
And I heard another out of the altar say,
Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. Revelation 16:5-7
Amen. We respectfully await Your return, Lord Jesus. Help us to continue to occupy until You come.
