What was so great about Noah?
Noah was righteous before God.
Noah walked with God.
Noah was a prophet and God shared with Noah what He was going to do and Noah believed Him.
Then, Noah followed God’s specific instructions and obeyed God.
Genesis, Chapter 6
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. v 8
These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations,
and Noah walked with God. v 9
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them;
and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. v 13
And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life,
from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. v 17
But with thee will I establish my covenant;
and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. v 18
Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he. v 22
And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark;
for thee have I seen righteous before Me in this generation. Genesis 7:1
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away;
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matthew 24:37-39
Jesus mentioned Noah’s time for us to consider, when the end was near and Noah heard the Lord.
While God will not destroy the Earth with a flood, He will destroy it with fire.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise,
and the elements shall melt with fervent heat,
the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10
We need to be like Noah.
Walk with the Lord.
Listen to and obey the Lord.
Hate evil.
Be so different from the world that God notices that about us.
