Blessed are Those Who Read and Hear the Book of Revelation

Blessed is he that readeth Revelation

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Revelation 1:3

This book is so vast and filled with secrets to be revealed. It tells of the 7 trumpets that will sound, the 7 seals that will be opened and the 7 vials that will be poured out upon the earth.

It is the only whole book we are given a promise, a blessing for reading and keeping in heart the things written in it.

Of the martyrdom that is sure to be the fate of many believers of the Messiah who died on a cross and rose again:

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held Revelation 6:9

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8

It mentions separation of the sheep from the goats:

Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. Revelation 7:3

Jesus told John to seal up some of the prophecies that he saw:

And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. Revelation 10:4

Revelation warns us of the mark of the beast and the revealing of the Antichrist to protect us from deception:

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Revelation 13:17 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb Revelation 14:9&10

And the Battle of Armageddon:

And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. Revelation 16:16

It is the Lord’s fulfillment of the end of the world and highlights the Lake of Fire and the end of the Devil and all who follow him into the pit of destruction:

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:10-15

Revelation tells us of the New Heavens and the New Earth that God will create for those who have been found tried and true accepting the sacrifice of Jesus’ blood for our salvation:

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. Revelation 21:1

It is also the only book we are promised that our names will be removed from the Book of Life if we take away or that plagues will be added unto us if we add anything to it:

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Revelation 22:18&19

The spiritual significance is understood but yet, difficult to unravel
The interpretation has not yet been made fully clear.
People have ideas.
Teachers try to certify their opinions.
Keep reading anyway
Some of it is simple to understand
As with any scripture in the Bible, unless the Holy Spirit reveals is to you,
it cannot be understood:

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14

However, the Holy Spirit can and does reveal them to a searching heart:

Jesus answered them, To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. Matthew 13:11

The natural man does not comprehend the things of the spirit:

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14

Jesus always spoke in parables and hid things from people so that they would be confounded. Seek Him and expect it to be work. Expect it not to come easily. The Word of God is like hidden treasure.

There is a map and there are clues, but there are winding roads and we can see the X that shows the end of the search.

I implore you, do not be afraid to read Revelation. There are very important warnings and exhortations the Lord has given us. Do not follow a man on the teaching of Revelation. Follow Jesus. With prayer and a right heart before God, He will show you as you can bear it.

The end is near and we should be prepared and ready, having our lamps filled with oil (Matthew 25:1-13)

So, dig in and explore and let Him open your eyes and clarify the cloudy.

And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. Revelation 11:15
