Can you have fellowship with God without holiness and repentance?
Not possible.
The Old Testament spoke of the Holy of Holies. That was the innermost chamber of God’s Temple.
The only ones who could go inside were the priests who had washed and prepared themselves to enter.
We can go into the Holy of Holies now, spiritually speaking.
You cannot get deep into the throne of God on your terms. It must be on His terms.
People like to live their own way. They want God on their terms. They want Him to think like they do.
That’s why Jesus said, Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate,
and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Matthew 7:13
If you want to be close to God, you have to choose His ways. You can’t make the rules.
The rules are already made and they are not changing, since God doesn’t change.
If you want to do things your own way and put your own thoughts above His,
He cannot be your God and you cannot be His servant.
Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts:
and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him;
and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways,
and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:6-9
With repentance and holiness, that is, a cleansing from the world by Jesus blood,
and the relinquishment of the fleshly desires can one enter the most intimate part of God’s abode.
That might be somewhat confusing as we are the temple of God.
It is not different. He only takes what we give Him when He dwells in us. Can He have all or just some?
How much have you given over to His Holy Spirit in your life to rule and to reign?
Ponder that.
