There is a time for everything under the sun.
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace,
and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
To everything there is a season, interpreting that season is sometimes difficult.
Shall I go up? King David would pray.
Yes, Go up, for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
David had good days and bad days.
His household was in disarray because of his sin with Bathsheba and killing her husband.
Yet, still, God worked through David, He loved David and He called David a man after His own heart.
And when He had removed him, He raised up unto them David to be their king;
to whom also He gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse,
a man after Mine own heart, which shall fulfil all My will. Acts 13:22
And, in all of David’s failings, the Lord only mentioned one sin.
Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord,
and turned not aside from any thing that He commanded him all the days of his life,
save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. 1 Kings 15:5
And Nathan said the Lord would not kill him but that David would be forgiven.
And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the Lord.
And Nathan said unto David, The Lord also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. 2 Samuel 12:13
The times and seasons were written for us to understand that all flesh is as grass.
We have good times and bad, we fail and we triumph, we honor God and at times, we do not.
All these are part of the human life that God created.
He knows we are weak and we are not always going to do what is right.
That is why He sent His Son, our Risen Savior, who died and rose again for our wretched souls.
When you see yourself fall before the Lord, because you don’t do what you should Give Him glory.
And when you triumph and do do what He has required of you, Give Him glory.
Always, in all times and seasons and circumstances, Give Him glory.
