Do you ever feel like you are in the lions’ den?
Maybe there are not real lions and your flesh is not at risk of being torn and you being devoured,
nevertheless, the feeling of being in amongst ferocious enemies is real.
Somehow, the Lord shuts the lions’ mouths for us, like He did for Daniel because he served the Lord.
Or Haman, do you ever feel like someone is trying to ruin you? Your reputation? and wants you to worship him as he walks by and is angry that you don’t? like Haman?
Haman went to great lengths to try to destroy Mordecai, so much so, that he tried to destroy all the Jews.
Mordecai prevailed due to his worship and honor of the Living God.
God came through for him, he arranged circumstances in many ways so that Haman would be defeated.
We can see God’s fingerprints all over the book of Esther,
how He directs our steps, gives us favor and shows His delight to us
and defeats our enemies and turns the tables on them.
If we allow any breach in our armour, even a small one, we will be out of God’s favor.
So, love your enemies, pray for those who hate you and let God arise in the situation:
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you,
and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good,
and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:44-45
Daniel knew he was being unjustly given this punishment
as he was praying to God and that was his offense.
Daniel retained his honor of the Lord and let God take care of things.
He did not fight or argue with the king of the noblemen.
Similarly, with Mordecai. Haman hated him and he knew that.
He also knew his battle was not with Haman.
Haman received his just reward for killing the Jews and trying to eradicate them from the Kingdom.
So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai.
Then was the king’s wrath pacified. Esther 7:10
His evil turned back on himself.
