Sometimes when you’re praying for someone or something, you might forget God’s promises.
Jesus does not forget.
He nudges you: I’m still working. Don’t lose heart, dear child, I will perform My word.
Abraham believed even when it was impossible.
He knew God was a God of the impossible.
As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before Him whom he believed,
even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations;
according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead,
when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform.
And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Romans 4:17-22
Sometimes God reminds you of what He has already done.
You forget, but many of His miracles are written down in His word.
His promises may be long forgotten, but they are still going to come to pass.
How do we know?
God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent:
hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? Numbers 28:19
Because if Jesus has given you a promise, He will keep it, even if you don’t see it come to pass.
Abraham believed God. Be like Abraham. It’s called faith.
