There are natural laws that are parallel to Spiritual Laws. Gravity is one of them.
What goes up, must come down.
We are talking about the Spiritual Law of self-exaltation
Having no other gods before The One and True Living God, Jesus the Christ.
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Matthew 23:12
The very first one we know about who exalted himself against the Most High fell harder than any one else. He fell from Heaven like lightning.
And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Luke 10:18
Lucifer’s fall is also described in the Book of Isaiah.
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God:
I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Isaiah 14:12-15
Have you ever been embarrassed by something you did?
Whether it be just in front of one or among many? You will only fall as high as you have gone up.
The consequences of elevating oneself will be evident once you fall.
If you don’t much notice, that is good, you haven’t gone too far up and you are near to where you should be.
Remember that the next time you have embarrassed yourself, what goes up, must be brought down.
Is it a slight embarrassment or a full-fledged humbling?
Either way, it’s a good thing as a child of the Most High.
It will remind you to not elevate yourself and to keep God in mind and to focus on glorifying Him.
