Remember when you were a kid and you couldn’t wait to grow up?
Then we have milestone after milestone that come and go and thereby remind us that our life is but a breath.
They come and they go and time does not stop for anyone or anything. It just keeps on going.
We waste time and we spend time and we invest time.
None of us can determine what someone else is doing, really.
Only God knows as He will hold us all accountable for our minutes and hours and deeds and words.
If a loved one comes to mind who is no longer with us, we may have regrets.
Those are the things we hope they overlooked and we hope God overlooks as there are always failures in relationships.
As we learn and grow, our failures are fewer as we have learned from the sting of regret.
God is working on us and we have grown in some areas and in some areas, it seems we still have a long way to go.
If we have chosen to follow Jesus, we have chosen the narrow road. We will keep learning and growing as we follow Him.
At times our cross is too heavy to bear.
That is when we look to Him, the Author and Finisher of our faith who says,
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:29
The next step in your life is to be taken and will come and go
and then we will each be standing before The Rock of Ages.
He will be the only way we can make it with His strength and His grace.
We will soon be standing in front of the One who shed His blood for each of us.
He is the One who performs HIs word. And His word is true.
Keep in stride, do your best to do His will and He will honor that.
Do not hide your talents, but use them for His glory.
You will then receive a crown that will not fade and that will not be taken from you.
As we stand afar, gazing in His direction, hoping, praying and waiting for our final step,
we can rest assured that Jesus will welcome us into His kingdom and there will be no tears or regrets anymore ever.
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Isaiah 65:17
