We are to focus on Jesus.
We are not supposed to be consumed with wickedness and evil.
And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing,
vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) 2 Peter 2:7-8
You try to ignore wickedness. Somehow, it finds you and you have to hear it from time to time.
As the days go on, it is harder to avoid it as the darkness can almost be felt.
Some people enjoy the evil. They love talking about godless things and gorge in the sins of the flesh.
They see nothing wrong with it.
They laugh and joke and speak proudly of the times they have participated.
Humans have been dealing with evil since the beginning of time.
The fall of man was the root that started the demise.
There have been those who refused to love the truth, the Living God, the Maker of Heaven and Earth,
but instead, they loved themselves and/or other gods who could not see, hear or smell
and whose hands were unable to help them.
They still chose to sacrifice to them, to join the crowd, to refuse to pay tribute to the King of all Kings.
The days will become more evil and the wickedness will become greater as the days go on.
It will be harder to focus on the good, on the things of God if we are not constantly seeking Him.
And the Lord said unto him,
Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem,
and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry
for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. Ezekiel 9:4
Commit your way unto the Lord and keep Him at the forefront.
The devil will continue to vex you with his tactics and evil minions both human and spiritual.
If we give in and become complacent, we are not pleasing God.
The indication that we hate evil in our hearts should be clear and stark.
Keep loving the people, even your enemies and pray that they may be convicted and converted.
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Jude 1:23
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God,
that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them
which are sanctified by faith that is in Me. Acts 26:18
