We humans have a way of being right.
We can get many people on our side.
We can gather followers, state our opinions about things
and have the satisfaction of feeling right.
God is not interested in us being right.
He is interested in us following His ways.
Treating the most putrid person with disdain is not the way Jesus handled things.
While Jesus spoke the truth and sometimes that was hurtful, He was always kind.
He loved His enemies.
King David followed God’s leading during his battles with King Saul.
King Saul was being removed and David was slowly but surely being elevated to the position of King.
Saul tried to kill David multiple times. If David had hated him, who could blame him?
David even told his servants not to harm Saul because he was God’s anointed.
We are right so often as we know God’s word. We know what God likes.
Let us remember that God is God. He is the true Judge who judges righteously.
Our job is to pray, love and feed our enemies and give them drink, to let Jesus repay them for their evil.
We are not to rejoice in the position we have over others.
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:
Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him, and He turn away His wrath from him. Proverbs 24:17-18
