Mistreatment happens to everyone.
When you’re a follower of Christ, there may be more or less
or different types of mistreatment because of the spiritual component.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light,
lest his deeds should be reproved. John 3:19-20
Sometimes people don’t even know what they are doing or why they are doing it.
it could be their history, they could have issues you do not know about,
but it also could be that you serve the Living God and that can be apparent by your choices, your life, your actions.
I have someone in my life who has asked me to do illegal things. She has also asked me to lie.
I know some people follow her lead. I refuse. I will not bow to her which really is what some people want.
They want power and control. They want to be like God and have people serve them. It’s an ugly truth.
That will not happen with me.
I will submit as unto the Lord, but not to them when they ask me to do something that I know is wrong.
Expect to be mistreated and then it won’t be such a shock. That is what Jesus told us would happen.
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world,
but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. John 15:18-19
Don’t be surprised. God allows us to be treated as less than sometimes. He knows it is hard to live on Earth amongst these earthlings. Each of is also of dust. We belong to the Lord above and He warned us so we would know when we are persecuted or treated unfairly that we are to still serve Jesus and honor Him in our lives.
It seems sometimes like mistreatment will never end.
One day, we will not be here on this earth any longer.
We will be forevermore with our Creator.
Let us not forget that while we are here, Jesus would like us to bring as many as will come with us
to meet and give their lives to the Lord.
It will help us all to remember we are not here for ourselves, but rather to do the work of the Lord.
