Lies, lies, lies everywhere, from many angles, for many purposes.
That is why Jesus said rumors of war.
We can’t be sure about anything.
We don’t know if the treaties are going to hold
or if the people who make the treaties are going to stand by their word.
What good are these peace accords? They really mean nothing.
There will be a peace accord that is coming up.
Even it will fail, eventually. Once that is signed it won’t take long before it is broken.
How can we guard ourselves from deception?
Stay in the word. Stay close to Jesus.
It is not enough to just go to church. It is not enough to hear teachings.
We must each be learning directly from the Holy Spirit.
But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you,
and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things,
and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him. 1 John 2:27
While it’s true we need each other, we also need to be very close to Jesus, learning and growing in Him.
Jesus never told us to follow any man or any doctrine or any teaching.
Do your own work, find out for yourself what He wants you to learn.
Verify every lesson you are taught by others and check it against the word of God.
That is what it means to have your lamp filled with oil. (see Matthew 25:1-13)
You do not want to run out of oil as it doesn’t work at that point to get it from others.
